First I would ask that this thread does not get whored up like the last one. (MM you may delete the old thread if you feel it necessary) If you have questions please pm me. I will try to put as much info in here as I can. I also will post pictures of what will be done. Limit your posts to yes I want it done.

Definitions. Engine crossmember. It runs from front to back in the middle of your engine bay. it looks like this. (old bushings in place from a manual transmission maxima)

Front torque motor mount. Depending on whether you have an auto, 5spd or 6spd, it looks something like this (This is from an auto and already has an aluminum spacer ring installed)

all rear torque mounts look similar to this

Sub mount bushings are the rubber pieces used to eliminate the noise caused by metal on metal. They reduce vibration between the crossmember and the engine cradle.

There are definitely some of you who want to have your motor mount bushings redone. This thread is an update due to price increases (american and canadian dollar are no longer at par.) New prices as of Today's date are as follows. Front and rear torque mount position bushings are 110 CDN, and the sub bushings are now 35 CDN. Both prices include taxes.

You can do this on a 95-03 Maxima. Here is where it gets complicated. If you have an auto I have to add 15 dollars because you need a special ring made. Your front mount is electric and the bushing is almost 4" diameter. No one makes a urethane bushing for that size. So I can make an aluminum spacer ring which presses into the motor mount. Then the bushing will be pressed into the aluminum ring (this will also keep the automatic tranny in the appropriate orientation. Depending on the year and model of your maxima, you may or may not have the larger 4" front motor mount.

Now that it is possible to do both the front and the rear on all maximas, (contrary to what you will read on the org) I would recommend that everyone who has even a few power adders should get this done. Here is a video of an exaggerated view of what your engine looks like in your engine bay when you stomp on the gas.

I'm not saying your engine moves this much, but I can guarantee that it does move at least a few inches. Get that torque to the wheels !!

Here's my car after all the bushings are done.

Ghost is first on the list. We grabbed an almost brand new crossmember from a wrecker. I pressed out the old bushings and inserted the aluminum spacer ring on the front motor mount. In a few weeks I will remove his old crossmember and replace it with the one from the wreckers with the new urethane bushings installed. I will then take Ghost's crossmember and rework it. It will go into the car which is next on the list. I will take that car's original crossmember and rework it etc... etc...

Recap on the cost
Auto's 110 for torque mount bushings, 35 for sub mount bushings (optional) 15 for spacer ring, 80 for labor. Total 240 includes Tax.

5spd and 6 spd. You will pay 15 less as you do not need the spacer ring.

Please keep this in mind. The torque mount position bushings are usually in stock. The subs are rarely in stock. So if you want to pre-order the bushings to make sure they are here when you are ready, shoot me a pm and we can arrange a meeting to collect the money for the bushings. You can pay the labor cost when the swap is done. Note that Energy suspension only makes bushings as they are needed. They make small batches. I had to wait 5 weeks for my subs. Got my torque mounts in about a week. Also if you pre-order now I can guarantee your price. If you wait 4 months and order them the price may go up again depending on the Canadian dollar.

Finally installed, and on a damn cold morning, a very special thank you to you Ray for all the hard work that you put in to preparing the crossmember and both front and rear engine mounts as well as the sub bushing. It was damn cold out in your drive way and the winds just didn't want to let up, but after all said and done this mod lives up to exactly what Ray has described, the engine sits like a rock with no motion and the engine delivery all it's power straight to the wheels I no longer have any irregular torque (one side pulling harder than the other) just a very strong pull evenly at each wheel (I am very Impressed). Again thank you Ray for the work, laying on the cold driveway ... banging your head every once and while ... you always deliver a very high quality product along with excellent workmanship. This is one fantastic mod ... below are a few pictures I snapped of the crossmember and motor mounts with the new ES bushings and Sub Bushings before Ray installed it.

Tothemax is next in line. I'll hopefully be able to squeeze him into my schedule very soon. Anyone else want to jump on the wagon? No bushings in stock, but I'll order when you let me know

I'd like to thank Ray for the install and helping us out with this.

I HIGHLY recommend this mod. Not only does it provide more stability but I would say that this also helps in restoring some good power that is possibly lost with motor vibration. My car pulls a lot better now especially low end (where a lot of vibration usually exists). Also for some odd reason my exhaust is deeper lol.

Also Ray helped me install my tranny cooler. I'd recommend this for the auto guys. My tranny shifts a lot smoother, especially the 1-2 shift where the VB hits hard.

Again thanks to Ray for this, especially on a long weekend :)
